Ġanni is a local fisherman in the town of Xewkija, Gozo. He is known for his intricate handwork in making the traditional ‘Nassi tal-Vopi’ – A traditional Maltese fishnet consisting of trying together long sticks in a diamond pattern. As time goes on, Ġanni is one of the only few people left in the Maltese islands that makes these fishnets, spending countless hours of his day practicing the art and passing it down to his family.
